Lime Street Publications is managed by Barbara Schurer; its Founder and Editor. Her wealth of experience, gained from her own time in the City, brings a unique perspective to this much anticipated ‘Lime Street Guide to Lloyd’s’.
This book will be an invaluable resource for Lloyd’s people, along with all those doing and wishing to do business at all levels within the Lloyd’s insurance market. The book is a completely new guide to all those companies and the people who carry out underwriting business in this 321 year old institution. It seeks to capture the very essence of what is a unique and fascinating part of the worldwide insurance industry.
Barbara became a Lloyd’s Member at the height of the market in 1988 when there were over 30,000 Names. She first stood for Lloyd’s Council in 1999. Her involvement with Lloyd’s was preceded by a successful career in stockbroking and old fashioned merchant banking. She holds an MA in Economics from Munich University.
As Barbara explains, “There may now be some very large and sophisticated businesses operating among some much smaller brethren at Lloyd’s, but the Lloyd’s marketplace has remained very much a people’s business.
